[He steadied himself before hoisting her up.] Now!

[Her hands let go of him before she's lifted into the air. With her head up, she reaches onto the ladder and manages to climb up enough to steady herself. Holding on she looks back down.]

Can you reach it?

[rockofages]

Of course! [He looked down the street where he can see the slow approaching horde.] Hurry, they come!

[She shimmies up the ladder to give him enough room before continuing on and toward a window or ledge to get on.]

They look edible, at least. [but look he's staying!!]

[Ah, well, then he has nothing else to offer about that.]

We needed in. [He shrugs. It's over and done with now. He hadn't seen Loki offering any opinions.] There's plenty of furniture.

[Steve sorts through the cans of food. He's not terribly picky. It can't be any worse than the C-rations he'd been issued in the war. Fire is out of the question so he's looking for things that can be eaten cold.]

There's a decent amount of food here.

[Another round of bashes with the shield, his elbow connecting with a face as he draws it back to smash his fist into the face of another and he grunts with the effort.]

We need... to run for cover... when we're clear.

[He glances around again, checking their surroundings and instinctively covering Clint as he moves.]

Don't strain yourself. Minor injuries can turn into major ones.

And there was no other way? [Unecessary as it was, the needling soothed him, familiar as it was. He truns away from the images, checking the security of the rest of the house. Close to the kitchen he finds a smear of dried blood on the wall.]

Good. I'm assuming your strength comes at a price similar to Thor, correct?

[Loki backs away to get a running leap, bracing a foot against the wall for an extra boost. He lands easily and climbs after her.]

Never was good at the subtle approach.

[Steve really isn't irritated. Loki is speaking his mind and that's better than lies and trickery.]

It does. My metabolism burns four times faster than the average human. It might have slowed down some. My abilities aren't the same here.

[She continues up it until she gets to a landing with a window.]

Can you get in?

So I've noticed.

[He makes in interested sound as he follows the blood trail past the kitchen towards the back rooms. Peeking inside a room he see's the grisly remains of the homes occupents.]

You are not alone in that I am afraid. [Loki returns to linger in the kicthen doorway, face bland and calm.]

Ah, but is that not the benefit of theories. You learn otherwise and you go on to the next?

[This man certainly was a character, bold and relaxed even then.]

That I've not decided yet. First step seems logical however. Find others, meet with them, learn of their worlds.

[Loki almost hums, he is that satisfied. The transfer sometimes was more than others could take, but to those that could would sometimes find it addictive indeed.

When Sherlock asks about more, Loki laughs and steps away hands raised.]

An entire universe worth of knowledge, Holmes.

[He flashes teeth and he gives Holmes a lean and hungry grin.]

Far from it. You were correct in your estimation, mortal.

And what do their worlds matter if we are not in them?

[He shrugged. The devil's advocate game aside, he was only interested in speaking to others if he could deem them worthy of his conversation. Loki had held his attention this long, but he was growing tired of talking in circles.]

But I'll humour you. Tell me about yours.

[Keep the blood and guts to yourself, Loki. Steve would rather not know.

He stacks some food on the counter, enough for both of them, with his metabolism considered. He doesn't know how much a god eats but he's guessing about the same as a normal human with the comment about Thor.]

Your abilities are different?

[He'll drag the table shoved against one wall in the dining room back towards the front of the house while he's listening. Steve flips it on it's side and shoves it against the broken door. It won't be heavy enough itself and he turns to shove the couch between the legs.]

[Sam nods slowly, looking more and more disheartened. This was not going well at all. Between the zombies themselves, his brother's disappearance, Cas not being able to detect the presence of the undead... well, wing and a prayer, right? Almost literally, too.]

Alright. ... We'll just have to keep moving, then.

[rockofages]

[He has no intention of sharing, Captain.

He enters the kitchen, moving to study the food, gaze flicking towards the note. He picks it up and crumples it.]

That will not be necessary.

Different? They are addmitedly lesser than they should be here, mores the pity. [He doesn't offer help, simply opens the cubboards, looking for things they could use as supplies. He finds a first aid kit and sets it beside the food.]

[Reaching the window, Loki takes a moment to study it's design. A simple lock. With a wave of his hand and a great effort of will that he'd like to admit, the lock clicked open.]

Open it.

[songsandstories]

[She watches as the lock seems to unlock itself. With a raise of her brows, she turns back to him. Was he some wildling? Still she does as he says and lifts the window up for them both.]

[He moves away from the door to the curtains and closes them to shut out any movement. Steve frowns as he watches Loki destroy the note, eyes flicking to the blood on the wall and it turns more into sadness.]

Do you know of anything that can affect your powers like that?

[He leans around the corner to look in the room that leads to the garage. Aha! He disappears for a moment and returns with a backpack, which he empties neatly onto the counter. He stuffs the food and the first aid kit in the now empty backpack.]

Should go upstairs and get settled in while we still have light.

[Castiel doesn't like it either. Muted powers and walking dead with no sign of Dean? It bothered him quite a bit. His fingers tighten around his angel blade.]

first, this wasn't a man. not human.

not human was usually impossible. in sherlock's mind, it was still something he couldn't fully accept. but all the facts were there. and after all other possible explanations were isolated, the one that's left, no matter how absurd, must be the truth. isn't that what he thought?

his gaze turns sharp, but there's something of a satisfied smirk that passes quickly. ] Loki. God of Mischief.

[ he was correct in his assumptions. yes, well, that was usually the case but why was he having trouble accepting it now?

he doesn't trust this one. he doesn't trust anyone, but especially someone with a trickster's reputation. but -- ]
