She hesitates, and considers opening her mouth to respond. She was going this way on her own, after all. She doesn't need anyone to follow. But arguing over a simple fact is childish and pointless, so she holds in her thoughts on the matter and hurries along after him.]
I have never seen a bow like that one. [It is said with appreciation, since she's skilled with a regular bow but can see the use in having one like his.]

[They jog back from the direction he came, brisk and tucked against the backs of abandoned houses. At every noise, his crosshairs lock position.]
Yeah? [He casts a look over his shoulder, face full of dirt and grease and all manner of things caked on over the past weeks and longer. They took him from the hell hole back home and didn't even offer a shower.] It's a'right, I guess. Takes geeks down quiet.

What is geeks?
[Like him, she is on high alert while they run, and at every noise that does not come from one of them she takes pause and glances behind her, ready to strike if necessary. The fact that she's currently running with someone, a man she doesn't even know makes her more tense than normal, and she finds herself thinking every little sound is something that could need attacking.]

[He stops abruptly at the shuffle over around the next bend, one hand raised in what should be a universal 'hold up, don't move'. Daryl immediately falls into a hunting stance, back bowed forward and arms stock straight. Moving ahead, he doesn't make a sound despite the fallen leaves and branches and debris at his feet. There's a gurgling moan around the corner, and he rounds it without a sound and fires his bow. The geek is down in a rumpled, bloody heap in under a second.]
A'right. [He'll just be retrieving that arrow now, not minding the gore as he tears his prized arrow from its rotten skull.] Let's keep movin'.

She now approves of running through the city with him, and finds herself much more at ease. She stops jumping at every noise and actually listens to their surroundings.]
You are used to these undead. The geeks, yes? You have encountered them before?
no subject
Yeah. Back home. World was full of 'em then, is full of 'em now. Real or fake don't make any difference to me. Still kill 'em the same as always.

[She hears the sound of something creeping up around the corner from behind them and spins around. On instinct she takes aim and hurls the machete at the creature, the blade coming in contact with its head.]
Do not wait for me if you feel you should keep moving.
[And she hurries to go retrieve her weapon, while finishing off the creature at the same time. She glances around to see if there are more, and catches sight of a small handful headed her way.]
Or on second thought, perhaps hurrying is in order!
[She wipes her blade off on a nearby lamp post before running as fast as she can in the opposite direction.]
We should take shelter nearby.
