[ emma is still in the laboratory, peering out the windows grimly, hardly able to believe what she's seeing. but, it's real. it's very, very real. she glances back at sark. ]

What do you think? [ they're going to need a plan. and she's slowly working one out, but ... zombies. ] We're gonna need to find someplace that can keep all these people safe -- assuming we even get past the front door. What the hell were these people thinking? [ putting them in a building that could get swamped. ]

[ sark is watching emma carefully, seemingly more focused on her than on the chaos outside of the window. but as soon as she looks towards him, he lifts an eyebrow curiously, the only shift to his expression. ]

You're welcome to devise a plan to keep everyone else safe. [ because he sure as hell isn't, but there's more than a few things they can use here to keep themselves alive. or, even more importantly, himself. ] I, however, would prefer to keep myself alive for as long as possible, and intend to allow others to care for themselves.

[ though the grim line that her lips are draw into and the hardness of her eyes remain the same, there's a shade of annoyance that colors her entire expression, as if changing the tone of it without changing the expression itself. ridiculous. ]

Great. Well, how about you add some logic to your apparent egregious self-interest. We're going to do better in a group than we could ever do by ourselves. There's strength in numbers. Even they know it. [ she lets the mini-blinds snap out of her fingers and back into their original place to make it clear she means the zombies. ]

[ sark hardly even blinks, because the fact that he lives purely with his own self-interest in mind is how he's survived at all in the first place and it borders on being a compliment. just because zombies are now making their way across the cramped landscape doesn't change a single thing. ]

You're comparing your logic to that of those mindless creatures? Wonderful. [ the scoff is all that needs to be said. ] Strength in numbers only works if your numbers have any sort of prior training. Or even a combined goal. Because otherwise no matter what you do, as soon as you drop a threat into the center of it all, chaos will ensue.

I think we can all agree our combined goal is surviving without those things getting a taste. I don't need training to tell me that going out there alone is idiotic. You're asking to get -- killed, or eaten, whichever comes to those things first. [ she can't bring herself to call them zombies, or even say the word. it's too crazy. ]
