Korra | The Legend of Korra

It's a very lucky break when she turns a corner and catches sight of a friendly face— that isn't trying to eat her friendly face. ]
Korra! You're alright! [ There's a mighty sigh of relief once she gets a good look over her, though it's short-lived thanks to a rustling noise behind them. Asami's back stiffens but she reaches for the other girl's arm in order to tug her into a nearby (convenient) hiding spot, tapping a finger to her lips. ]

Well, dealing with these things wasn't as easy as she thought. For all the rotting and the creepy and the groaning, they used to be people, and she's not so sure she can bring herself to kill one, even in self defense. Aang managed to deal with Fire Lord Ozai without killing him, and he was way more dangerous! So, for the most part it's been a matter of avoid and defend, using her powers to fend away rather than kill. Could they lock them up somewhere? Keep them away from normal people without having to kill them?
Thankfully, seeing another member of Team Avatar 2.0 stops this line of thought, the relief plain as day on her face.] Asami! Oh man, you've got no idea how glad I am to see yo- [Oops, hold that thought, hiding sounds like a good idea right now! She follows her lead without any hesitation, silent as the grave as she tries to peer around the corner. Please don't be a zombie, please don't be a zombie...!]

Some girl with stupid hair and watertribe garb.
...
Hold up. Watertribe garb? Stupid hair?]
—Korra?

Doesn't stop her, though.
In any case, she's got a sack slung over her shoulder loaded with goodies; snacks, canned food, water bottles, the works when BAM. Korra doesn't quite stagger, instead hopping back quickly and taking a defensive position-but... Oh, that silly hair looks familiar. Hey, Tahno.
Uh, wait.]
Tahno? What are you doing here?
[Despite the question, she's actually grateful to see a familiar face. Almost grateful enough to crush him in a hug, but she'll settle for dropping her hands to her side.]

I'm trying to get out of here. One of those— those things came at me! [He pauses to just breathe for a moment. When he next speaks, his voice is softer but no less concerned.] Korra, does your bending still work in this place?

[She readjusts the sack on her back to reach to fiddle around for a water bottle. Running from zombies may be great, if not terrifying exercise, but it isn't exactly easy and Tahno looks like he could use it. Korra hesitates in her search at his question, eventually finding what she's looking for and tossing the bottle over.
Her expression pretty much says it all.]
No. I mean, it isn't completely gone, but... [Here she demonstrates by trying to produce a flame. It takes some time, no longer something she's a natural at and the flame is weak, flickering in the wind. She sighs, and snuffs it out.] It isn't the same.

He deliberates for a brief eternity on what to say but nothing remotely helpful comes to mind. Finally, he speaks just to break the silence.]
Hey. Let's find some way to go. And it's gotta be a way neither of us came from, because the chick who was following me? Wasn't pretty.

This.
Being told he's fictional? Just some stupid story for other people to enjoy? He doesn't even want to think about that right now, not when a very real, very terrifying threat is looming over him. Or was, in any case. Something's wrong with his bending, but fire is still fire and it seems like these things don't particularly like what he's packing.
Another shot of firebending, and he takes off, finding a place he can slide into and hide for the moment.
Maybe this is just a crazy dream brought on by, well. Everything happening in his life.
He looks up again after catching his breath, checking to make sure none of those things followed him to get revenge when--] Korra!
[He sounds absolutely relieved.]

Not so loud! [She's... pretty loud herself, in all honesty. Whoops.
Buuut it seems nothing has followed him or is lurking nearby, so...
Uh. Proximity. Right. Gonna fix that now and pretend not to be embarrassed.]
Sorry, sorry. I guess this place has made me a little jumpy.

Not because of any reason other than he's glad he found a friend.
He glances away from her, ignoring the way his face heats up. He can just blame that on overexertion if it's brought up.]
Considering what I've just run into? I don't blame you.
