[So it wasn't exactly a nice rescue. But, having just been yanked out of the jaws of a hungry, shambling monster by a heavy metal cord around his wrist, Giles isn't complaining. He's just going to try and stumble back to his feet, shaking his head to clear it and, almost as an afterthought, trying to get the cord off.]

[Lin releases his wrist with a subtle move of her own, the other hand moving up in a sharp movement to bring a spike of earth up to impale the corpse before it can attempt to reach for him again.]

[Giles lets out a yelp at the sound of the earth splitting and reforming itself. But when he sees that the result is a dead zombie, well, he settles down a bit, looking back at Lin with an expression of mingled admiration and wariness. A witch, maybe?]
