[ HE'S COMIN' FOR YOU. who knows where he got that gun, but he's definitely been making use of it. it's quiet enough for the moment, but there's already blood everywhere. ]

SO BRAVE. but, no, really; while the mounting fear and terror in her chest is not completely assuaged at the sight of him, they're tampered. she can stop focusing on the splattering of blood and gore on the ground, and on him instead. he'd protect her; has before, and why would he run for her if he didn't mean to take her someplace safe again?

it had happened last time. running for him had worked last time, too. and now was as good a time as to try so again. ]

[ immediately checking to make sure that she's all right. most of the blood on him is from other people, and he smells strongly of gunpowder. ]

How long have you been here?

[ her knees are dirty, clothes rumples; there's dust in her hair and clinging to her face and neck with the slightest sheen of sweat to glue it there. she's been running, but when he looks her over she does her best to regulate her breathing, to stop panting and to look - for all purposes - alright. ]

[ see? see, look. i'm alright, i'm not bleeding. ]

[ nill shakes her head at the second question however. not long, not long enough to fully understand where she is. ]

[ not bleeding, but i'm scared. ]

[ he's relieved to see her largely unhurt; the dust and fatigue aren't immediately concerning. he saw a few shambling corpses on his way through town, but now that the sun is setting, he doubts it's safe to stay outdoors. ]
