Then we should get moving. Fighting a zombie horde [Which still sounds ridiculous to say, by the way.] isn't on my list of things to do today.

[Food is actually pretty high on his list. Stupid serum. Even if he's not quite as strong as he remembers being his metabolism is still crazy.]

[ Clearly Steve needs to check himself out an issue of Marvel Zombies in that case! Ah! Not that Jake read too many issues of that himself, of course. He's not a nerd or anything of the sort, the idea is preposterous. ]

[ Or slowly inching towards being in front of him, one of the two. Really, Jake's just not interested in standing around and being eaten. ]

[He is far too embarrassed about there actually being comic books of him to actually read them. It'd been bad enough in his time but finding out they still exist is even worse.]

Stay close. I haven't been in the alley too long. The street behind me was clear and should be still.

[He shifts his grip on the shield as he stands and heads back out the way he came, keeping an eye on the stranger just so he knows where he is.]

[ Jake moves slowly down the alley to the street Steve came from. Steve has no need to worry, since Jake's not about to just cut and run, leaving the guy who's offering to help him out high and dry. Still he's only got a handful of bullets and one handgun at the moment, so god knows if they have to fight their way out of a squad of the undead he won't be as useful as he'd like. ]

[In the unlikely event of that happening, Steve would still be more worried about Jake being able to handle things than himself. This is just like the Chitauri, only a little more dead.]

I don't hear anything from that direction. I've got the shield; I'll go first.

[His very trustworthy, patriotic shield. It gets the job done. He presses himself against one wall and edges to the end, glancing back the other way just to check that they aren't being snuck up on. Steve can't see anything coming toward them and he leans his head around to check the other way.]
