[ Firing blind for a moment, which she isn't quite as good at as he is, Natasha slides her hand along the belt, impersonal despite the intimacy of where her fingers drag... and then unclips the pouch of rounds and moves them over to her own. It's kind of flattering, in its own way. Were he someone else, she'd probably just take the whole thing. ]

[ Her distraction has let the undead press closer, and she focusses cluster fire to press them back, the fallen zombies acting as further impediment to those left behind. But there's so many, and they don't seem to be thinning out. But her face reflects no worry, her tone as cool as ever. ]

Since we're fictional and all, I don't suppose someone wants to write us up a helicopter.

[ As much as he wanted to apply a more optimistic meaning to which patterns his brother spoke of, he could not allow himself that. And with a smile like that, he could not trust Loki's meaning. ]

I would rather it be as we were. As in Nornheim and upon Jotunheim. With you, by my side, fighting together.

[ As hopeful as the words my be, his tone reflects just how unlikely he knows it to be. The hint of desperation in voice and his face, as though he were trying with all his remaining power to make it true. ]

[Loki twists, looking down to eye the offered weapon. he understood its use, though its design was inelegent beyond belief. He raised his gaze to Bartons and took it.]

[Loki's smile becomes grim. Thors hope and optimisism, while touching cut into him like blades. But he remined himself of one simple truth. How could he come home when there was no home to go to?]

Mayhaps that will happen.

[Loki almost pities Thor, it shows in his green eyes before the smile grows anew, sharp and far from kind.]

It would be wisest if either one of us wished to survive.

[ Fighting was cathartic. Fictional? He could deal with that--he was a legend, a myth. Minimal powers? Been there, done that. But he had the unshakeable feeling that he was being punished for something. Why else would he be unable to lift his hammer?

The fact that he seemed to be in this unnamed realm with nothing but monsters and messages from an unknown source. He thought himself to be the lone, sentient being. It had been days, and he'd seen no others.

He stood in a field, knocking down the last remaining survivors of the most recent wave. He growled in rage as he seized one, smashing its head into that of another, killing them both.

Given the level of grime, blood and dirt on his armor and hands, and the overall state of him, he had been at this for quite some time. Hours, at the very least. ]

[ Those words were enough to ease at least a little of his worry. If no more because he honestly wanted to be able to trust his brother again. ]

You have always been known for your tricks. And your silver tongue. A talented liar, yes. But you were also once honorable and trustworthy.

If survival is your wish, and you say you speak the truth, I will believe your word.

[ He knew he shouldn't, that he needed to remember what vicious lies his brother had told. Remember the destroyer sent to earth. But he'd forgiven his brother that, and after such desperation in this place, the hope that his brother might not be so far out of his reach was too much to resist. ]

[He seems to pause, considering before nodding slowly. He didn't care for his 'brothers' love or hope for him, just for Thor's strength and ability in a battle. For the familiar sense of knowing there was someone strong and able at his back.

Until he has no use for Thor.]

Then let us leave. Shelter is needed and supplies.
