[What? It's not like he lingered. He's smart enough to avoid things that apparently want to kill him.

Steve stands and taps his shield.]

Didn't let anything get close enough to be a problem.

Good, keep doing that and get your spangly ass in here before you attract the whole city from the glare of your shield.

[Legends indeed. It was amusing at the least, the ramblings or primitive mortal minds when they saught to explain the universe around them. He'd laughed at many of them and scowled when he fell from Trickster to villian in their fiction... And then he'd done it on his own.

And now he was here, stalking through the brush like a ghost, his weakened powers making him a shadow rather than simply an unseen presence. God he may as well be, but here he had no desire to risk attack from the shambling undead.

Looking away from the path ahead he found a sight he prayed he would not see, but hoped for none the less. Thor. Thor looking as wretched as he felt and closed up to the world.

Loki fell still and watched.]

[ Thor was just standing there, the ground littered with undead around him. His armor and bare arms were smeared with grime and blood. It looked as though he'd killed them all with his bare hands. Which was the truth for the most part.

The thrill of battle had been a small reprieve from his thoughts. But with nothing left to fight, there was no distraction. He had no power, but he had his armor. This alone perplexed him. His hammer had been in the room with him, but he could not lift it. Just as before. He could not call a storm, nor could he summon his full armor. The wounds received from his fights were faster to heal than that of a human, but nothing like was accustomed to. He was stronger than he'd been upon his first exile. It didn't make any sense. Why was he being punished? Was this some lesson his father sought to teach him? And what would become of his brother, left in the hands of those who fought him?

He looked up from the bloody mess of his hands, to see his brother standing there. Was he seeing a ghost? Loki was on Midgard, his army defeated. The sight shocked him so deeply that he had no words. He could not move. He could only stare, trying to work out if was he was seeing was real. ]

[When Thors gaze fell upon him, Loki let his megere veil drop away, allowing him to become solid.

He himself looked battered and bruised, covered in filth from his clashes with the dead. Loki's gaze fell to Thor's hands, bruised and smeared with blood.]

No hammer?

[That surprised him more than anything. Thor without Mjolnir, a perplexing sight and oddly worrying. He'd hoped his brother would at least be fighting fit, all the better to aid Loki's chance of survival.]

Strange for you, Thor.

[ When Loki became more solid it hit harder than as if he had vanished all together. He was actually there. He wanted to hope that his was perhaps Loki's lesson, and not his alone. But some how it did not feel that way. Seeing his brother there should have filled him with hope, but it only weighed upon him harder. ]

I cannot lift it.

[ His tone were meager, and weak. As though it took a great effort to admit such a thing, and had very little strength to voice it. ]

[Loki frowned, dark brows drawing together sharply. In any other place he'd be overjoyed to hear such a confession from the almighty Thor. It was something he burned for as he fell through the void, but here?

Hearing it put something cold in the pit of his stomach. Thor could not weild Mjolnir, Loki could barely manage the most simple of spells... They together were weaker than they should be. This would not do.]

You cannot. Well... At least I am not the only one here that is a shade of what they should be. [He wants it to sound victorious, at least a little vicious. Instead his words seem almost concerned.]

[ This news did not weigh well upon him, adding to the burden he already shouldered. If Loki were always without power, then they were both in exile. But it still did not answer the question of why.

Moving slow, as if mired in some unseen muck, he started toward his brother. He wanted to be hopeful that this would be a joyus reunion. That they would join forces and take on this world and its monsters together. But their last parting had left him with a knife in his side and little hope that his brother could be properly reached through love or reason. ]

Then we are both in exile, together.

[ buffy is just ... staring at this fictional character business in uncomfortable displeasure but oh there's andrew and he's probably ... thrilled by this. like the fact that they actually got his name right. ]
